Gratitude is Badass

Here’s another concept you wouldn’t think to put under the badass category…but isn’t it badass to appreciate what you have now?

Or have we been conditioned to always look for what’s shiny and new.  When we get it, the 🙂 wears off and we’re chasing another high.  Why?

Appreciate what you have now.  Take care of what you have now and watch it grow.  Keep that same energy.  That’s how you’ll create a badass life.  Other people, other resources will be drawn to that energy.   People will see you care for the people in your social circle and want to be a part of it.

Share It

Many things don’t count unless you share them.  That is, you won’t experience the maximum benefits if it isn’t shared with others.  If you lack the marketing or you don’t get the value in enough people’s hands you’ll be leaving a lot on the table.

Your skills and talents?  Share them.

Your thouhts and feelings?  Share them.

Jazz Piano and Improvisation are Badass? 150 150 admin

Jazz Piano and Improvisation are Badass?

Music is definitely badass and piano specifically.  I’ve just signed up with a course on Jazz Piano and Improvisation.

The course is only available through preorder so I can’t tell you how badass it is yet.  I have a strong prediction it will be badass though.  I decided pretty much based off the Jesus Molina’s music instagram account.  Now that’s badass.  If I can learn to do what he does then …hell yeah the whole experience will be badass.

The program is geared towards intermediate and advanced piano players, and I’m excited.  As far as I understand, the lessons will be available on June 6th, 2020.  Let’s goooo!

Overcome This and You’ll Be Free 150 150 admin

Overcome This and You’ll Be Free

If your fears stop you from taking a step that could be beneficial to you, then you are a slave to your fears.

You might have grown comfortable with your fears being with you.  They might stop you repeatedly, and you’re used to that pattern.  That’s conditioning.

Know that if you’re dealing with this, you can break this pattern at any time.  Continue stretch and expand by going into the unknown.

One thing I’ve noticed about going into that scared shitless place is that the first time is when you feel the most fear, then it gets less and less as you go on.

Your job is to face it so many times it dissolves into a mild tension.  Then you start getting used to feeling the fear and acting with it.  Playing with it and having fun instead of resisting it.

I’m Talking To Myself 150 150 admin

I’m Talking To Myself

It’s ironic that in creating a blog where I write for other people to read, I’m often talking to myself through the blog.

It might be my past self or…it might be something I know that needs to happen now.  I know if I need to say it to myself, then others need to hear the message as well.

I’m not a Guru.  I don’t know it all – even on the subject of badass, but I love to learn.

Deep Thinking Without A Job 150 150 admin

Deep Thinking Without A Job

One of the things that surprised me the most about not having a 9-5 office job is the creativity and depth of thought I can have in other areas.

Originally, my thinking was “hey…I’ll conserve some brain power by taking some bullshit job that doesn’t require much thought, and then I’ll work on my project(s) on the side”.  I tried that, but that line of thinking (along with some processed junk food) left my mind pretty dull at the end of the day.

What I didn’t realize is, that no matter what task I’m doing for 8 hours a day – 40 hours a week – it’s going to take up a lot of mental space.  I underestimated how much mental space my job activities take up.  It’s going to be on my mind when I’m sleeping.  Finishing a task is going to be on my mind in the commute to work (which people usually don’t count as the 40 hours).  It’s on my mind when I leave.  It’s on my mind before I take the drive to work.

That mental space can be used so much more productively than on boring, repetitive tasks.  I created a whole course as soon as I quit my job.

Loaded Lux Vs Hollow Da Don

I like battle rap.  Many people who also like battle rap say that the battle below is one of the best battles of all time, if not the best.  The battle actually starts at 12:24.  I actually watched a battle rapper revisit the third round and break it down.

The battle is one of the best because the battle rappers are two of the best. and so you get to see their skill level on full display.

Ask For What You Want and Need 150 150 admin

Ask For What You Want and Need

And keep asking!

I believe growing up and being told “no” eventually left me feeling defeated in asking – UNTIL I met a person who was the total opposite.  He asked and asked and asked for everything he wanted and needed.  Ultimately he usually got what he wanted and needed.  I couldn’t deny the results that I was seeing him have in most areas of life.

I could also see he had built up a skill with it too.  I saw he could recognize when a no was a real “no” and when it wasn’t.  He recognized when he squeeze a “yes” out of a “no”.  He would also spread his asking around.  If one person told him no, and he sensed it was a solid “no” then he’d move on and ask someone else.

I think sometimes we can have a tendency to not ask for what we want and need…and as a result we end up with pent-up, unmet desires and needs.

“Closed mouths don’t get feed” seems like an appropriate quote.
